I've been twice as I'm presently staying in the area, but I'm unlikely to return unless I hear they've trained their staff. When you're paying 10 Euros for boiled eggs on 2 small bits of dry toast with a handful of lettuce leaves, you expect at least that the waitress has some customer service finesse if not basic manners nor the skills to write your order down if she has a bad memory. The owner had the decency to apologise and compensate (somewhat) but it's not the error that was the problem, but the way the rude and incompetent waitress handled it, even starting out by greeting us with a bizarrely accusatory and rather shocking \I was busy!\ rather than a friendly smile and an apology for making us wait without so much as a nod of acknowledgment. There isn't much ruffles the feathers of my much-more-patient-than-I'll-ever-be friend but this morning I saw her actually leave the restaurant to stand on the street for a moment to calm down as she was so angered by the service. In spite of the hipster environment that allows dogs, and the fact that the owner seems nice and last time I went the coffee was good (even though they brought me a latte instead of the Americano with some milk that I'd asked for), I balk at paying quite so much for average food when the waitress treats you like an inconvenience.

Very friendly staff, and amazing baked goods. This became my 'local' for the 3 weeks I stayed in the neighbourhood. Good coffee to boot.

Great environment. Friendly staff & good service. Nice selection of pastries cakes salads etc. Only improvement: coffee slightly overextracted and beans could be better. Try Flor da Selva nearby! Nice to be in a positive environment in 2020.

I walked past here today, and couldn't resist to go inside as the space is so homely. The service was warm and efficient. Then when I saw the freshly baked goods and other homemade produce, I had to taste. It was worth every bite.

In Santos neighborhood, this is a very “simpatico” grocery/cafe/shop where you can buy your gourmet food and supplies or sit and have a coffee with a fresh and crunchy layered croissant or eat a piece of a tasty cake or a simple lunch based on a choice of varieties of different salads, be it salad with lentils or tuna fish. You can also take home their salads or other simple dishes like couscous as they prepare daily and offer them starting at late morning hours. They run mostly out of all these dishes by 2 pm so best to get there before 1 p.m. It is offers a lot of gourmet products. You can for example find your pesto sauce or fungi porcini here. Their bread comes from the city’s most famous Glebe bread shop, which is located a few kilometers further down the street closer to Alcantra. The wooden stools by the window allows you to enjoy your coffee and watch the neighborhood go by unless you choose to hook up to your gadgets. The owner and the staff speaks English and they are all very friendly.
