One of my favorite streets in Lisbon. There you will find atmospheric pubs, you will meet interesting people. I recommend

I loved this attraction in Lisbon and ended up visiting a few times. Worth getting the lift up and walking up so you can experience it both ways. Did this last year.

A surprise ! We came by this elevator by chance. Waited for couple of minutes and we are at the top of Chiado. Great! The only ugly thing was the spray paints on the tram and on the houses along the way..Lisbon municipality should do something to about them

Some city passes will give you a free ride on this. Great if you are near the coast and need to get back. Interesting transport with a lot of history. 3.80 for adults. Impossible to social distance so take a mask.

I love this place, even empty because of covid 12. But everything will be back soon to normal again.

Why do people love this so much?! I can see why locals here can't stand tourists. This is just one of many overrun funiculars that is almost impossible to use in a practical way, like if you legitimately just need to get up the hill in a timely manner. Firstly, they are really expensive. Secondly, you have to wait like an hour, depending on the time of day/night. It'll be packed with tourists, all hanging out with their phones, cameras, and ipads(!!) in their hands. Thirdly, the actual ride is really short but they spend so much time at either end that it seems disorganized and slow. Don't waste your time. It's not that fun. In fact, it's not fun AT ALL. Definitely not worth the 3.70(!) but I guess they need to charge that much to dissuade tourists. Sucks for the locals. It can be nice to photograph if you're NOT on the tram so my advice is to skip the ride and just walk if all you want are cool holiday photos.

Good experience , 3.80 both ways. We use one way in another funicular and on the way up we used this one.

Perfectly charming way to avoid hiking up the hill.
