In these days of concern about where eating out will feel safe I can absolutely reccomend this little gem. My dinner date and I are both vigilant, due to our home lives, and we could not have been more impressed. A greeter showed us to our table (one of the many outside) and explained the one way system, table ordering, and anything else we may have needed to know. The menu was expansive - but we had no trouble choosing (we knew what we were there for anyway). The steaks were seriously good! The chips; chunky, crisp and golden with fluffy insides - just as a good chip should be. The portions were perfectly sized and whilst we ordered a house salad to share aswell we both came away feeling pleasantly full, rather than uncomfortably stuffed. The ales on tap were a nice mix, and clearly well kept. My companion went for the Purity Golden. Staff members were all attentive, welcoming and pleasant. And we witnessed really nice exchanges between them about what work needed doing next, and offers of help from one to another; which raised a smile from us, the customers Cannot recommend this place enough. And we will absolutely be returning for a Sunday Roast here in the near future - enticed by the family dining style 'Lions Platter'. Thank you to the team here for a lovely evening, and our compliments to the chef.

We went yesterday for a lunch and we were given 2 tables outside as we were 8 of us (we arrived around 3pm, the time on your receipt is wrong), clean place and friendly staff. We waited about an hour for our food, strange, as with this Covid-19 issue the pub was empty. Surprisingly when our burgers arrived they were just a little warm, burned and dry (4 out of 4) fries were not good. Girls were happy with roast and salad, the kid happy with his pasta. We would have expected a little more from them on their second day after the lock down and not during a rush hour. In response to your reply: We did not make any complain when served because after 1 hour waiting would have taken one more to get your mistake fixed, if you would have accepted them as your mistakes, because reading many other feedback you have been described as very rude! We mentioned to your waitress while clearing the plates that the burgers were burned and she did not seem interested on our feedback. I am not a social media person and to be honest I have written only few negative feedback here on Google and it is unacceptable that, taking into account this bad time and as you mentioned many businesses are shutting down, customers have to pay your mistakes! Finally, you do not want honest people to tell you the truth (I have attached the pictures of your food) and you won't see us again!
Our first visit at lunchtime today. Excellent, friendly staff, nothing was too much trouble. The food was delicious and good value. We will definitely return! Despite them being very busy we received our meals in good time.
I have been here many times in the past, but haven't been since the lock down eased. The staff are very friendly and made us feel very welcome.On our arrival they explained how things worked now with COVID measures in place and explained the procedure to us and everything flowed great, the food is great and it's a very relaxed place to be, me and my work colegues will be visiting for lunch again. Highly recommended.
We had a lovely time here with our two children. The pub balances the need for Covid safety measures with making people feel welcome. The Play area was open for the kids, the food was great and the staff were very helpful. We'll be back.
