The hot baths were fantastic after a long drive, and the attached amenities block was a bit old but nevertheless clean enough. Soaking in the hot baths, I could feel my achy shoulder getting better. Best of all, it's all free to use. The cleaner was just arriving as we were leaving - no wonder the facilities looked clean and well-maintained, both inddors and out.
We have LOVED the bore baths! We have been there the last 3 nights in a row! Even though it's summer, it's not been hot at night at all and the water has been perfect! The side of the large bath that is closest to the information sign is the hottest as it is where the natural stream enters the pool! Extremely clean, both the baths and the amenities! The fact that it is a free attraction makes it all that more impressive! I highly recommend a visit if you are in the area!
I would highly recommend this place. It has tables and chairs showers and toilets. The water is so relaxing and hot, you have to ease yourself in slowly, and on a really hot day you can only stay in for 5mins before getting out and having a cold shower, and then repeat the process all over again.
Well maintained, and clean. With showers and changing area. Fenced with carpark Sunset or sunrise are awesome times to drop in for a thermal dip.
sooooo hot. i could not even dip my foot in for more than 10 seconds. Apparently tourists can only handle to swim in the winter. and i kinda agree after my experience. I would love to go back in the middle of winter.. such a quirky interesting town , worth the drive and if you are wondering, the road south/north via Lightening ridge is much better/wider/smoother than the highway north/south via Thallon :)
Visited today , so nice and refreshing, I’ll be going back during my stay
There are two pools - one kids pool that is quite shallow and the main pool is deep. The pools are really warm to hot depending on your tolerance but they are so relaxing. Recommend going from the pools to the cold shower and repeating a few times. The fact that the pools are open virtually 24/7 means you can do all the sight seeing and then have a relaxing soak at the end of the day
