The food is just great. I went there for the \Welsh\ and it was memorable. There's many variations of it to choose for and to suit your taste. The vibe of the restaurant is pleasant. The staff is caring and kind.
We were over for the day in Calais from Kent, the restaurant was so much better than we expected. Great service and great food even though they were pretty busy. Definitely recommended, great burgers, amazing steaks and great beer too. Well worth a visit. Thanks guys, it was just what we needed before coming home after a long day out.
Was just looking for somewhere to stop on the way back to the ferry port for food. Luckily enough we found L’hovercraft. The food was excellent, the burgers were juicy and full of flavour ... the steaks were cooked to perfection. The omelette was fantastic and every down to the chips were perfect. Our waiter was kind and friendly, and the place had a lovely atmosphere.... just waiting on desert so excited ️ Hidden gem
We stayed in Calais for weekend break and here looked so welcoming with fire heaters and popular on a cold night .we chose the fillet of rumpsteak and the chicken Normand in mushroom sauce .each were delicious. The white wine was served beautifully chilled .the steak was better than any we had in dearer restaurants.all dishes good value too.we were so impressed we came back the next night and chose mussels and their signature local dish of \Welsh\ I had the mince, pepper, onions one ,again both dishes were delicious . Saturday night so popular we decided to wait for a table .the atmosphere is great and friendly and warming .highly recommend .we will come back definitely.

You have to put this star rating in context of the type of restaurant it is. It's not fine dining. So a 3 fits for its type. But for its service etc it deserves another star. This is a multi function restaurant, with tables on the street, a covered restaurant and bar. The fast food offer of moules (mussels) with fries and a drink was good value for money at 15. The service was friendly, prompt and attentive. And every everything was kept tidy - tables etc. Would I come again ? Yes for a quick no nonsense meal.
I've always loved coming here and their Moules are lush and caught only that morning. Great beers too.
