I like this auction house. I bought a few items from 500 to 1700 plus fees. So just average price for Chinese porcelain. They are very accurate with their descriptions and respond promptly. They have a lot of good pieces, too. Definitely will come back to buy again from them. Denise is very helpful. And Alex too. I like working with them.
Helpful advice from friendly staff who seem very knowledgable. iWill defiantly be keeping an eye on their paintings auctions in future.
When one reads negative reviews, it is easy to assume the writer is venting their spleen. As an art market professional, and a regular auction buyer, I have had a very poor experience with Gorringes recently, being treated with superciliousness by an unhelpful woman on the phone when trying to register to bid. I will make no effort to bid here again.
