Excellent food. Excellent wines . Mix of taste . Tapas are almost proposed . The quality of ingredients is very high. Service is warm and excellent customer focus. The location is perfect : you can have your table in front of the Henri IV castle . No car. At the end of a dead end way. The tenant is welcoming you with a big smile and warm welcome.

It is infront of the château Henri IV. Good location no need to find else where if you are already tired and hungry. We eat indoor it is good ambiance inside and we like to be indoor because it is too hot for our kids to sit outside. Their salad have big portions but the lasagna I ordered is small and not worth the price. Their food is ok when you are hungry. But yeah their staff are friendly. Restaurant and toilet are cleaned. But not to many options for food selections.

L’Escadron Volant is a French brasserie located in the heart of Nérac just opposite Henry IVth’s castle. They offer both outside and inside seating. Visited with a fellow chef for dinner while in the region for culinary courses. The staff was friendly and helpful in making local wine recommendations (we tried two different wines and they were both exceptional.) For an appetizer we ordered sautéed chipirons (baby squid) which were not overcooked and excellent flavor. Our entrées were Lasagne Veau (veal lasagna with a rich cream sauce) and the night special Piece du Boucher (steak – cooked exactly as requested – with glazed carrots and baby potatoes.) The Chef did not disappoint with these two entrées. This brasserie can be very busy on market day (Saturdays) and during the summer both at lunch and dinner so reservations are recommended. We will be back to try some of the other offerings.

Open-air eating opposite magnificent 16th century castle facade. French-style food. Ask for the pink-cooked duck breast to be better cooked on the fatty side.
