Ghost town and museum worth a look ,town has done well preserving this
Have visited Gwalia Town many times in the last 20 years and stayed at Hoover House 4 times in all the bedrooms. Pleased to see every time I visited Gwalia I see improvements in all areas of the museum which sits well with my beliefs about mining in WA and may it continue into the future.
This place is well worth visiting. The houses have been restored and contain some of the old furniture. The nearby museum tell the stories of some of the many people who lived and worked (and died) in the mine and contributed to the development of the area.
Really worth a visit to understand what really happened in the early years of gold mining. Highly recommend
Well worth a visit. It gives some hint on how hard life must have been for these early miners
Amazing place stayed at the hoover house amazing bit of history very well kept and great hosts. We were also lucky enough to get a guided tour of the town by a local slightly overweight dog we named (bev)
Interesting if you like goldfields history. Worth the diversion.
