Very unique and old ship, the ship is well showed and give the feeling like you go back in time to the times that this ship was new. Also near the ship there is very good museum that is related to this ship. I am very recommending to visit this ship

One of the best museum I have ever been to. The reason is because it's a hands on emersive experience. I wouldn't classify it as museum but an active workshop where you can learn and take part in building a ship of the past. There's a working blacksmith where you/your child can strike the iron when it's hot. A few carpenters, a rope makers and a sail maker. Plenty of things to do and plenty of people to ask questions.

Schönes und informatives Museum rund um den Bau und die Geschichte der Batavia sowie der Zeven Provinzien. Man kann den Handwerkern bei der Restaurierung zuschauen. Highlight ist natürlich die Besichtigung der Batavia. Wer eine Führung erwartet, ist hier natürlich falsch. Hier ist Eigeninitiative in Form von Lesen und Fragen angesagt. Die Beschäftigten dort sind sehr freundlich und auskunftsfreudig.
Das ist den Eintritt nicht wert! Das Schiff ist in einem schlechten Zustand und zudem sehr dreckig. Es fehlt an entsprechenden Erläuterungen und in den verschiedenen Werkstätten wurde auch fast nichts vorgestellt.... Wir haben uns wirklich geärgert, ca. 45 Euro für zwei Erwachsene und ein Kind. Nicht zu empfehlen!

Sowohl das wunderbar nachgebaute detailgetreue Schiff als auch das Museum und die Werkstätten sind absolut lohnenswert. Wir hatten einen tollen Aufenthalt dort und alle ehrenamtlich tätigen Mitarbeiter waren äußerst freundlich.
