It's a small to medium sized Indonesian restaurant in Leiden city. Many people are coming to this place, especially for dinner. So, to avoid disappointment you might need to book a table in advance. Foods are quite good here, and they are a little bit sweet. I enjoyed my dinner in this restaurant. Rice and variations of meat are available. Prices are also very reasonable.
Good food, but not excellent. Basic issue I had is you walk in and you feel these slippery oily floors. Makes you wonder when the place was cleaned. The restaurant was full when we left. So make reservations. We had to show we had called to proof we had a reservation. Seems they didn't write our request down so got poor seating. Service was slow and somewhat disorganized. Ok food, had better Indonesian in other places.
I have never eaten something so tasteful in my life. Staff is kind and service is in top. If you want to be surprised on the best way this is the place.
I've been eating in Surakarta for ten years now. It's the real deal. Excellent food, good service and doesn't cave to trends. To add a little anecdote, I left the restaurant today forgetting my cell phone behind. The lady from Surakarta ran about 500 meters to catch up with me and bring me my phone. All that with a smile.
