Reliability of bioscience experiments The value of bioscientific data greatly depends on the reliability and precision of the scientists conducting experiments. But even with the current high level regulations and controls, 50% of scientific results prove to be irreproducible.This is true for academic research that generates the data on which the industry bases its products, and for industrial research that proves the effectiveness and safety of those products.This problem, the “Reproducibility Crisis” costs over $28b each year in the pre-clinical studies market in the US alone. Product / Service We create solutions that automatically generate documented evidence without asking researchers to change or add to their existing workflow, saving them up to 30% of their time. We do this by finding the actions that leave the largest amount of space for undetected errors in scientific research and designing tools to provide data about those actions. Our first product, the Beacon, is a small device that snaps onto mechanical micropipettes generating usage data for said pipette, such as volume setting, time stamping of actions and angle and speed of pipetting. The Beacon makes it possible for the first time to gain insight into the quality of individual pipetting actions, thereby supporting scientific problem solving and increasing the reliability of bioscientific research.
