The data can be accessed after each night in your personal NightWatch Online Portal and provides a better understanding of the user's nightly epilepsy. The NightWatch and the LivAssured company emerged from a unique collaboration between the Kempenhaeghe and Sein epilepsy centers, UMC Utrecht, patient representatives, and the Epilepsy Fund. Back in January 2019 we discovered NightWatch and have been using it for 9 months now. It works really well at alerting us to our sons’ night-time seizures which can be tonic, tonic-clonic or sometimes focal seizures with lots of movement. NightWatch is really reliable and better than our under-mattress monitor. There are no adjustments or settings to change-it just works! It’s never missed alerting us to a tonic clonic seizure. Also, we found it never gives false alarms. The big advantage over other monitors is its ability to detect both seizure movements and heart rate changes during seizures. Another really useful benefit is that each night the base station can send heart rate and movement information to an online portal if you connect it to a router. This allows us to get an overview of how his night went and the recordings give us a daily record of when his seizures happened. We see full picture of his heart rate during each night. What we’ve learned, since starting to use the NightWatch, is that it can take a long time for my sons heart rate to fall to a normal level. After a tonic clonic seizure it will be 3-4 hours before recovering to his pre-seizure pulse rate. I’ve had outstanding support from the NightWatch team at LivAssured. They always get back quickly to me, even at weekends, if I have any questions or need advice. They even suggested a better position to fit the NightWatch sensor on my son. His autism means he can be sensitive to certain situations and relocating the sensor from his arm to his leg solved an issue. It works very well there! We are really happy to have found NightWatch.
