A nice big woods to explore! ***Take your wellies!!!*** Free car park, holds about 10 cars or so, depending on how thoughtfully people have parked. Lots of trails and paths to explore, fairly easy to lose yourself. We went on a Sunday, about midday. Managed to park, then walked into the woods. The MAIN wood is over the bridge, crossing the M1. It's about 2-3 minutes from the car park. All in all a beautiful place to take the kids and/or dogs. We only saw about 5 people in about 3 hours of walking. It is a tidy wood, didn't see dog poo, and hardly any litter. There are no bins, so take a bag for your rubbish!

A beautiful scenic walk, just off the A50, at the back of Groby village. Quiet and tranquil walk amongst the various tree species. Some parts littered, mainly at the edges near the local college campus and edge of housing estates.
What a lovely wood to walk your dogs, however like most places slush, muck, puddles plenty of that. Be prepared to bath your furry friends when you get home.
Love this woods, the older part of the forest (towards the back) is particularly beautiful. You don't see many people at all in the week and the dog has a lovely run around.
Lovely place for an afternoon walk. Nice variety of vegetation, and lots of paths to wonder around, take the dog for a walk or to go for a run.
