Cracking pie on Wednesday pie night. Worth knowing that, quite understandably, the pub is doing two sittings on pie night so we had table from 6.45 to 8.15. And our pre-ordered pies were ready within minutes of our arrival (before our drinks had arrived!). We decamped to snug bar area post-dinner. Plenty of Covid safety in evidence, friendly team, will go back.

Well were do I start. Poor doesn't come close. Lovely menu on their website. I called to book, table booked, and we turn up really looking forward to our last meal before lockdown 2. To be given a plastic covered hand written menu, which was very limited. We weren't happy, and wondered why we weren't warned of this when making the booking. We order 2 starters and 1 main off the limited menu. For the member of staff to return to tell us 2 items weren't available. Surely with only around 8 or 9 items on the menu that couldn't be possible we said, there was a long chat with the owner which was far from satisfactory. We left very disappointed and I'm fairly sure never to return. No apologies were offered . Truly shocking

Their menu was tiny compared to that on the web site (due to covid). Nothing was said when I called to book the table. But to make matters worst, of the 3 dishes ordered 2 of them weren't available. The waiter was very poor in trying to deal with the situation. There was no apology other than blaming covid. We went looking forward to a lovely evening out, only to return feeling very frustrated. Shocking.
Good quality food, service was variable as the young lady was brilliant but the young man less so!
