I got an email about a position I was very interested in, so I rushed to Workforce Services to use the computer and apply. I used the Resume Builder, to update my resume and it was looking pretty good. I clicked the share resume button, on the new software Resume Builder... which asked me to pick a format for my resume, and forced me to write a cover letter. After writing the cover letter, I clicked the button to send. The program sends a copy to me, and here's what happened... the new program which they have up and running, for job Seekers to use, smashed my cover letter!!!!
What do I mean by that? I mean, it removed all the spaces from my cover letter!!!
Turning my professional, well-written letter into a joke. Not to mention, this is a JOB I'm applying to, at job services... UNACCEPTABLE.
I told the people there, showed them, demonstrated to them, what had happened, and they mostly Shrugged It Off.
The program most likely cost me my job, because, I look like a total idiot with a squashed up cover letter like that... (I wouldn't open the resume attachment to a cover letter like that, if I were the hiring manager!!)
My resume, (which was fine by the way) will go unread, and I won't have that job!!!!
I am livid. How many other poor job Seekers, sent letters that look like that and didn't get hired, because the place that's supposed to get you hired, has a glitchy messed up Resume Builder??? ...this is absolutely unacceptable.
I would have yelled at them, but what was the point? The damage is already done.
If you have to go to job service to apply for a job, don't use, I repeat, Don't use Resume Builder to mail your package.
Sincerely,
Angry Jobless Schmuck
