Do take time to take the tour of this building and the connection to the state Capitol which houses the legislative branch including beautiful chambers of the House and the Senate. This building is rich with marble and hand stenciled walls that shimmer in the new lighting. Great bright lights make these rooms come alive. The process of government is explained and some of the politics of the state. Visit Genius and say hello for me!

many people don't seem to know this but you can actually go to this building and the general assembly every morning of the week day even if you're just a member of the general public in Connecticut, and speak on issues that matter to you. Get there around 5:30 or 6 in the morning and look at the daily schedule see what's on it that you may wish to listen to or contribute regarding. You can make a difference and to all those who complain that government just goes one way that they don't want it to a lot of that has to do with the fact that only certain people or classes of people go very often to speak out on issues and bills with in Connecticut laws they wished to influence. No one is stopping you from having your voice heard. Thank you to the Connecticut general assembly for all the work that you have done through the years.

Join the guided tour to learn about the legislative process in Connecticut. The guided tour, which is offered on Monday to Friday, is operated by the Connecticut Education Fund's League of Women Voters, and sponsored by the Joint Committee on Legislative Management, Connecticut General Assembly. So it's free! How great! Public hearings and legislative committee meetings are held in the Legislative Office Building year round.
