Quite simply our favourite restaurant. We have eaten here dozens of times and always bring friends when they visit. The food is superb and the service excellent. We would highly recommend le Scorlion when visiting St. Jean d’Angely.

What a great find this restaurant was. I Google searched and it came up. In the middle of St Jean de Angeley near the car parks for easy access. The staff were welcoming and spoke English, and were very attentive without being overbearing. The food was amazing. Lots of amuse bouche. (Little starters). The set menu included the specials of the day and was 27 euros for three courses. All the food was presented beautifully. The seating and tables were very comfortable. We had a lovely evening and will be returning.
Amazing! We’d never have known this existed if it hadn’t been recommended by our family. We had the two course midday menu, and it was so good. We had the veal pate and the cold tomato soup topped with foamed goat’s cheese to start, and beef with delicious creamed potatoes for our main course. On a second visit, we had the maki sushi to start, which was tremendous. Absolutely top notch food; I would highly recommend a visit!
