Great food in the city center.

Very tasty food and a cosy place.
I went here with my wife on our honeymoon, and it was our first French dining experience as we had just arrived in Lille that day. I kind of wish it was our last French dining experience as it set the benchmark for French food and it was unbeatable. We ordered the escargot and terrine for starters and then a platter of the specialties for a shared main; and everything we had was unbelievably delicious. It wasn’t just the food though, our waitress Amalie, who I think may have been the only English speaking staff working that night, provided service that was beyond exceptional. She was more than happy to help us pick the dishes to order, as the menu had no English. We told her we wanted to try some authentic French food and all of her recommendations were perfect. She is a real asset to the restaurant; and having spent 3 weeks in Europe, across 7 countries and 21 cities, she was by far the best wait person we had. This place is an absolute must if visiting Lille. We were only there for the one night and I feel we picked the best restaurant there is.
Good traditional French food in the heart of Lille. Has a great atmosphere & is usually busy. Staff are friendly, food is good & the wine selection is awesome. Would definitely go again.
Ordered lamb and got low quality chewy meat that was even difficult to cut. Mixed entry platter was just a bunch of low cost supermarket meat and cheese. Service was very slow. Overall dont know how somebody could give this place more than 2 stars. House wine was ok and probably its good for just a drink.
We felt ripped off: Example: 2 scopes of ice cream are 7 Euro. Sorry: Never again
This was the best meal that I've had in about a year (in fairness, I don't eat out THAT much, but it was still a very, very good meal). The food was absolutely delicious, and I found it very reasonably priced for the quality: In my case a (very big) salad, a main (duck confit), a beer, and a coffee came to 27 euros - definitely not \cheap\, but for the quality of the food, this was a bargain. The restaurant is in an older building with a cozy atmosphere. The wait staff generally did their job well. I'm going to note that, from my North American perspective, they could have seemed slightly rude (that said, I understand that in France the same standards of superficial, forced friendliness we're used to in North America don't apply. That's why this fact isn't affecting my 5-star review; I'm just noting it so you, prospective customer, know not to expect idle chit-chat). Anyway, if you're looking for a real French meal that's worth writing home about, look no further. Just go here. You won't regret it!
It's clear from the moment you enter that one cares for the guests. And the hospitality is just one of the good ingredients used to make your stay very pleasant. Kitchem/recipes from the Beaujolais (and wines from Beaujolais of course).
