Best steaks in Cherbourg without a doubt. Cooked in front of you on an open wood stove for that authentic feel. I’ve eaten in here on numerous occasions and have never had a steak that wasn’t short of superb. Would highly Recommend.
We had a very nice dining experience in La Pantagruel last night. We didn't have a reservation but got seated. I don't know when we have seen service as efficient or professional as this. The team worked in unison & even though it was busy it appeared that all tables got served quickly. The warm cosy atmosphere added to the evening. Loved it.
Wanted this to be good, steaknwas blue when asked for medium and do chewy I couldn't eat it. Mate had the sausage, didn't know it was coursely ground intestine, had tubes in it.
A fishing trip to Cherbourg had us wandering what to eat, didn't dance seafood as that was what we had on the previous trips. A quick search on Google had us decided on le pantagruel. Ordered ribs for 2, hanger steak, rib eyes, chitterlings sausages, lamb chops, veal kidney. All were very nice, the ribs was slightly under cooked than what we wanted so we asked the chef to return to the grill for a minute or two. All washed down with beer, salads and frites. Definitely recommend to any meat lovers.
The Hangar Steak was my choice and it was absolutely perfect. The best steak I have ever had, and it was cooked to perfection. This place is a must eat location.
