This was by far the best food of our time in France this trip. Everything was wonderful. I was pleased to be able to dine without having reserved a table but I would recommend it. While it is elegant our party felt comfortable in our tourist clothes.

Had the saveurs menu was very good , service was fantastic. Will be on my list of recommendations for people i know visiting the area
Good restaurant with cozy atmosphere. Recommend Well balanced set menu.
A good food restaurant. Cooking fabulous and adventurous. Tables awful for long-legged people. The waitress was good but, unfortunately, we were served by the young waiter. No smile upon greeting, and the service at times hurried to the point of being harried. No tip therefore. There was no ambience. Quite honestly they should concentrate on front of house and get that right. Stop trying to compete with the 2 Michelin star restaurant nearby - you don’t have a hope until both food and service are equally good. Wasting potential.
Some years ago, we - as a family of four - accidentally came across this restaurant. Not knowing to expect, this still is one of my top three culinary experiences in France. The price/quality ratio was fantastic. If the chef is still the same, don't doubt - eat here when in Amboise!
Definitely the worst restaurant in France during our 2 week trip through Normandy, Bretagne, and Loire River castles. They held us for more than two hours from appetizers to the main dish and in the end, it turned out, they just forgot to bring some entries, leaving one person with no food altogether. The owner said it happens and didn’t even tried to apologize. The food was ok, edible, but their attitude spoiled the otherwise perfect day.
Disappointing overall; the restaurant is trying to compensate with presentation for bad quality ingredients and tasteless dishes. Sorry, it doesn’t work. I bet they have no returning customers, just tourist. The cheese and the desert were good, probably because it’s not made in-house. The vine recommendation was nothing as the waiter described. It’s a classic tourist trap!
Service is terrible, even for France. Food is totally overrated, mostly re-heated stuff, and kids menus are just leftovers from the adult menu
