Nice little brasserie, good food but nothing else to write home about.

This Café/Restaurant was recommended to us by our landlady, which was lucky, as somewhere on the main drag with a gold bar is usually best avoided. The couple that run this eatery are friendly and unpretentious and made us feel very at home. We ate there twice over the 6 days we were house hunting. The first time, which was lunch, we ordered drinks and these arrived with a wonderful cumin/garram masala corn bread. I started with the most amazing Grilled oysters – fantastic. Sara had an equally good smoked duck. We then had a Duck with peppercorn sauce and homemade chips and a slow roasted “Arse” of lamb, which were both perfect. We finished off with cheese and Ice-cream which were really good. I asked for a glass of wine with my cheese and was presented with a Minervois that was the perfect counter balance to the cheese. This was a lovely 2 hour meal that required a nap in the afternoon. In total with 1 ½ bottles of wine and 2 coffee’s it was around 60 euros. On the second trip I had a magnificent duck kidney salad, which was inspired. It was contained within a giant bowl made of a baked crepe and served with a generous helping of mixed salad with caramelised kidneys, a huge sprinkling of lardons and topped off with a poached egg and very well dressed. Sara had her best croque monsieur ever. We cannot recommend this restaurant enough.

Les plats sont bons. Le personnel toujours agréable. La formule entrée/plat/dessert à 1650 du midi raisonnable niveau tarif. Le cadre est chouette et les tables bien espacées. Je recommande donc chaudement !
