Nice and cozy family restaurant, food is pretty okay for the price, no ‘wow’ factor though

Positive: - really nice & smily staff and they are efficient :) - the food was really tasty :p Negative : - too expansive: 25 for a main dish for what we had in our plate is way too much - it is worth 17/18 - we ordered char (omble chevalier) and we had trout (truite) without them notifying us
I have mixed feelings about this restaurant. Food is delicious, among the best restaurants in Nancy. However, ules\ of the restaurant are very strange to me. For example, I went with two friends, two of us are vegetarian. As the menu offers only one vegetarian main dish, we asked for two (vegetarian) appetizers to share and two main dish (of which one vegetarian to share). The waiter told us that he could not give us a table for three people if we were taking only two main dishes... Never heard something like that in 40 years! He added that the restaurant was very full (whereas it was already 9:40pm and there were several empty tables already) and they could not allow us to do that. He insisted to make us take 2 vegetarian main dishes instead of 1, we accepted. After some minutes I told him that, as I knew my hunger, it was ok for me to have only the 2 appetizers and, to avoid food waste, not to bring the extra unnecessary dish and that I would pay for it anyway. He told me to hold on, have the appetizers and then talk about it. He never came to speak to me and he never dared to cross my eyes for the rest of the evening. Of course, we got the unwanted extra dish, and we had to bring it home in a doggy bag. At least another waitress came to speak to us at the end of dinner and tried to explain their strange rules kindly and with a smile. If you think that eating is a pleasant moment to share with your loves and friends do not go to Comptoir Saint Michel, because their lack of flexibility and the attitude of some of the staff will ruin your meal.

Really good price for a lunch menu. Very good price-quality. We had the salmon, duck and canonnelli.
Great food, great service but on extremaly hot days do not eat inside, far too hot

Une adresse à retenir, à essayer et à réessayer encore. Les plats changent d'une saison à l'autre, d'une semaine à l'autre, la petite carte permet de ne jamais être déçu. Parfait sur place et à emporter aussi où les portions sont copieuses et goûtues. Merci de continuer à nous régaler pendant le confinement !!! Heureusement qu'il y a des petits plaisirs qu'on peut poursuivre
