Fantastic environment with amazingly nice staff. They entertain and explain and talk to you. We really enjoyed the stay. The food is not the best but it is good. We had coc au vin, Risotto, fondu, and warm salad. They were all good. The tiramisu is also nice. The owner is amazing. He has a special talent in doing magic tricks. During your stay you can enjoy playing with puzzles and solving them. This makes you not realize the waiting time. We will try it again and we do recommend you to try this place.

Close up lived up to expectations. Great staff very welcoming. Food was very good, fresh and tasty. The magic at the table to end the evening was fantastic way to finish and real feel good evening. Best wishes and hope you are still going strong for next year when the world starts to get back to normal.

Great food, great hospitality. And it’s fun too. They have puzzles to play and a magician show at the end of your dinner. Unusual but great experience. Chicken supreme was really good, strongly recommended. We also liked the French onion soup.a lot. We definitely come again.

To celebrate the end of a wonderful holiday in Meribel, we decided to go for a meal at Le Close Up. It can be busy, especially on Wednesdays and Thursdays (chalet host's days off) so we booked in advance. When we arrived, we were greeted by a waiter. He was very friendly and explained the concept of the restaurant. Around the room were optical illusion paintings that were entertaining to study. There was a display of brain teaser games and toys that we were invited to play with. We ordered a half bottle of red wine to go with our food. My boyfriend ate duck which came with boiled potatoes and he said was very tasty. My sister and I both had hot stone beef, duck and pork (which had a minimum order of 2). The meat was tender and delicious and was served with red peppers, mushrooms, side salad and tender new potatoes. For dessert, my boyfriend had tiramisu which was more like a chocolate mouse as there was no coffee in it, but it was tasty. My sister enjoyed the rum and raisin ice cream. After finishing our meal, the restaurant manager came to our table and entertained us with some brilliant magic card tricks. It was a lovely meal with a great ambience that I would recommend, however it was rather pricey. Having said this, the cost was in keeping with other restaurants in the area.
