Good atmosphere and clean restaurant. I ate some traditional meal in Lille which was called Le welsh du nord. It was very rich and deep flavor of cheese. they came with massive a bowl of hot chips. I enjoyed them so much. however, it was actually heavy to me. i recommended you to share it with someone If you haven't a tough stomach. Other those of meals also were very delicious.

I would've liked to give it 3.5 stars. The food was good. The portions generous. I wouldn't go as far as calling it exceptional. The service was very friendly. We were 4 of us in the basement seating area. The acoustics of the place are not conducive to discussion. My friend who was at the same table, only diagonally opposite me was difficult to hear. I would like to mention that the restaurant was full. This explains the noise and also the popularity of the establishment. I might go there again if I need to.
We came on a short break with no prior experience of Lille. Searching through TA, the first thing we realised is how many restaurants don't open on Sunday! Fortunately Le Chat did and it was a fairly easy walk from our hotel. It was quiet when we arrived (7pm) and the staff were very attentive. It's only a small place and as someone else observed, quite rustic in style. The menu is fairly limited and relatively few choices for veggies (2/3 in our party), but we all manged to find something and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. I had the Carbonade flamande which was excellent, a local beer and then a creme brulee. I think your expectations will determine your review of this place. If you want good value, simple surroundings, well cooked food and friendly staff, then you should enjoy it like we did.

Excellent waiter very helpful. Had the cat burger! Rare beef in a flatbread. Wine only served in carafes but fine and not dear. Such a good place.
We had a fantastic experience in this super cute little restaurant. The food was tasty, homemade neighborhood style cooking, service was great - attentive and professional. If you're looking for a rustic, well priced and cosy restaurant this is it. Also worth a positive mention is the beer selection and the house digestifs. These guys rock.
