Five stars! Excellent food and atmosphere, and a very well stocked bar. I can recommend the calamari salad, but all of the food looked good. I had to book two days in advance over Easter but it was worth it.

Went there last night for pizza. I can't help but be impressed with the quality of food on offer in Launceston. A wonderful atmosphere and although I was there with my sister it would be a great place to take a date! When u walk in there is a casual area with leather couch and then a bar that runs the length of restaurant. The barman seemed to know what he was doing as he mixed some lovely looking cocktails. We had a beer and glass of wine and shared a sensational pasta salad followed by the margherita pizza topped with prosciutto and buffalo mozzarella! Delicious. The service was first class , experienced and friendly. Highly recommend!
I've been to the Metz 3 times since moving to Launceston and I've felt very differently after each experience. The meals here just aren't consistent enough for me. Last time I went, I was looking forward to it greatly as the previous time I went the food was really good. On my most recent visit, I ate a few different small plates and sides, shared a pizza, and shared a dessert. I didn't like any of the food, really. Flavours clashed, things were greasy, there was undercooked pumpkin, and dry cake. And to top it off, I was left feeling nauseous when I went home. I like restaurants that I go to be consistent. I don't want it to be great one night, then unpleasant the next. I think after the last time, I won't be going to the Metz again.
Busy for a Sunday night. Covid sign in...good to see. Great wine choice. Pork belly to die for. Def go again!
We had our wedding anniversary dinner and the experience was second to none. All the staff came and congratulated us and made sure we were attended to for our every need. The food was incredibly fresh and tasty. Beef short ribs were the best I've had. Cocktails were on point and served with enough time to enjoy them before the meals came out. Kids had colouring in to keep them occupied and a good selection of meals and desserts to keep them happy. One of the best dining experiences in a while, we'll definitely be back!
Fantastic place to have a family dinner. Food was terrific and both decor and ambience very cool. Staff friendly. Only downside was the wait for food. We waited for 45 mins when we were starving ! At these prices I expect speed to also be part of the package. If you set low expectations around food wait times I would recommend. If not go somewhere else to avoid frustration.
Great food, great ambience, beautiful decor, great friendly staff and excellent service !! We ordered the steak with chimichurri (my hubby and son had this), tortellini salad (my daughter loved this) and I had the pork belly with noodles and broth. The pork belly was exceptional and cooked to perfection with a perfect crunch. The only drawback was the long wait for the food (45mins) but it was definitely worth it !!!! No photos, by the time the food came we were starving and just dug right into it ;)
Great birthday lunch. The staff were attentive and friendly, the menu varied, good wine selection including local tipples (with added raspberries and cream). We started late so we were there after closing time but they were perfectly lovely about it and didn’t rush us or make us feel uncomfortable. The decor has been renewed and it’s much quieter than before. Totally recommend.
