The figure skating aspect of Laufen's ice hall (which is powered by a huge array of renewable resource frendly solar cells and which covers the entire southwest side of the huge roof of the building) it is wonderful and safe place for young people to hone their skill on ice or just to have a ton of fun. In addition, the Eislauf Club figure skating program is top notch and has many competitive skaters at the top of their categories, some who are ranked in the competive Swiss skating confederacy. Anita Öl, a past Swiss champion and a fantastic coach, is much loved and appreciated in the Laufen ice skating community for the wisdom of her many years of experience and steadfast dedication towards the young athletes under her tutelage. Beginners just starting out on skates as well as the children and young adults active within ECL benefit greatly for the structure that Frau Öl provides and who can actively use the skills gleaned from her in all aspects of their lives. The club is organized by a strong and dedicated booster club that makes sure that all of the children particpating in their lessons needs are met to have both a safe and a rewarding experience. The older more proficient skaters that have come up through the ranks on the team work with the young beginners during their lessons and so which contributes to a communal family feeling, the young children looking up to the teenagers as the fine roll models that they are and looking foward to aquiring their skills.The ice is maintained professionally by a team of master ice technicians that take pride in their work and always deliver a glass-like surface. Also which must merit praise, the coffee in the restaurant is very good and is always delivered with a smile!
