Compass Community Center Reviews | Rating 4.7 out of 5 stars (5 reviews)

Compass Community Center is located in Lake Worth, United States on 201 N Dixie Hwy. Compass Community Center is rated 4.7 out of 5 in the category civic & social organization in United States. Founded in 1988, Compass continues being a leader in HIV prevention and an organizer of information and referral services for gays and lesbians who needed assistance as they navigate toward empowered, healthy, productive lives. Compass remains the sole provider of crisis and care services for people living with HIV for the Palm Beach Department of Health, has HIV case management services to connect newly-diagnosed people to care, and continues its tradition as an expert in HIV prevention activities. In 1999, with the help of a generous contribution from Ken Adams, Compass set an ambitious goal – to make all of Palm Beach County a safe place for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people. Compass created one of the largest outreach events of its kind in Florida’s history, PrideFest of the Palm Beaches. Then, to connect local residents to their elected officials, Compass created the Stonewall Ball, along with the Palm Beach County Human Rights Council, so that our unique and diverse voices would be heard and understood by those with the responsibility to lead us. Compass accomplishes its mission each day by emboldening our youth, promoting pride in our community, and acting as an educator, advocate, health service provider, and focal point for community organizing. As good neighbors, effective partners, and respected participants in our civic responsibilities, Compass promotes awareness of the caring nature of our diverse community, and continues to make history doing so.

Good afternoon, it’s extremely sad to say I will not be returning to this place. I have been coming here for over 7 years, with friends and brothers. I remember the days we would be in the computer lab enjoying ourselves and was able to stay off the streets. We even got tested here numerous times. I simply asked the front desk lady to see if there was a different brand of condoms in the box she instantly got aggravated. And told me to go somewhere else. That to me is extremely rude and I’m pretty sure if it was someone else this would’ve have never happened. I will not be referring anyone to this place ever again. 06/25/2019. Time:1:40. Thank you.

I first visited COMPASS in February of 2015. It was the first step to a series of changes that turned my life for the better. I attended the gender group meetings religiously for the first year or so. I made connections with really good people, some of which I will consider mentors for the rest of my life. Everyone I have met that works for COMPASS so far has been welcoming and accepting, which is what most of us need when we go there. The sense of community is definitely fantastic. The meetings gave me an opportunity to connect with others like me and I took complete advantage of it. That, in turn, gave me the confidence I needed to start trimming all the unnecessary \fat\ in my life and replacing it with healthier and more accepting options. Two thumbs up. I would be in an entirely different place right now if it wasn't for COMPASS.
