When everywhere else in town told us MUST HAVE A MASK, Rhodas took us in, we ate outside, hit lunch plate was great and tamales are out of this world. Thank y’all for a great experience. Half and half pie yall.

This was such a great find in Lake Village. Just a few blocks off the main drag and worth the short detour. Ms Rhoda cooks a mean meal. We had the smothered chicken with rice, steamed cabbage and the beans. Wow! Then we had the fried catfish... WOW! It’s a simple place with just a few tables inside. We also had the tamales and the pecan pie. Don’t be dissuaded by the looks of the place when you drive up. It’s amazing. Definitely on our list of lunch places when we pass through town.

Awesome little food place. Stopped on my way through to get tamales for my son. Bought all they had available at that time . Extremely friendly!

The homestyle cooking was authentic delicious and served hot. The atmosphere was friendly and welcoming...such a fine place to be so small...who would have guess it?

We came across Rhoda’s on Google Maps last year on our beach trip. At the time we were passing through on a Sunday and they were closed. We’ve been waiting all year for family vacation so we could try Rhoda’s. I knew it was going to be good as soon as I walked in. “C’mon in Honey,” Momma Rhoda said, smiling up at us from her table. Her husband sat at a table nearby. Her son (son-in-law?) was at the counter, and her daughter in the kitchen. “We heard you have really good tamales,” I said. “We do. We have lots of good food,” Rhoda said waving us in. “C’mon in.” I sat down and talked with Rhoda while my wife ordered the famous tamales and pecan pie from her daughter at the counter. ”Started cooking out of my kitchen and selling tamales, pies, and drinks. We bought this place in 85. How many years is that?” “About 34 years,” I said to her. “Yeah, we’ve been here since 85. Been doing this a while. People from all over stop by....You come back now.” Love feeling like we’re part of Momma Rhoda’s family and welcome to drop by anytime. The homemade tamales and pie were delicious. Looking forward to trying something new next time. Good prices.
