Took my 12 year old nephew today, who had fallen off a swing. Quick and friendly nursing service. Nice relaxed chat while examining the hand / wrist. Unfortunately, there is no X-ray facilities available on the island so we were advised to go to Inverclyde, where a hand fracture was diagnosed.

Phoned hospital about 10pm last Fri eve as my mum's week old head wound had started to bleed again. After asking me many questions about the incident, I was told to come straight away. The staff were waiting for me at front door & mum was whisked into a consulting room. By then the bleeding had stopped & they cleaned the wound & put a bandage on. The 2 staff members were absolutely brilliant, thank you girls, and a credit to their profession - meticulous about cleaning wound, chatty, humorous but still very professional. It may be a very small hospital but don't be fooled - you'll be in very safe hands !!
