A rare gem in 21st century France. This is a classic French restaurant with daily specials inspired by traditional French cuisine. Everything is made from scratch, in house, by the owner himself (Christophe) and the service is top-notch providing everything at exactly the right time. I ordered a Kirsch Apéritif which was accompanied by a house-made chicken rillette. For my Plat Principale, I ordered the Filet of Beef with the local favorite Maroilles Sauce (made from Maroilles cheese which is the pride of the region, le Nord). The plat also came with a cozy side of puréed potatoes loaded with flavor, and to top it off, I ordered a Jenlain Ambrée (local beer) as a beer seemed more suitable than wine for my regionally inspired dinner. Overall, the flavors were divine (the filet was cooked to perfection!) and the ambiance is wonderfully nostalgic yet nothing feels forced or pretentious. I highly recommend La Table de Christophe. I myself will definitely return.
