My fellow Americans please make the small effort to stop in and treat yourself. We just had the Christmas Eve dinner and it was amazing. Vodka macaroon with caviar to start was delicious. The parsnip soup with foie gras and langoustines was one of the best things I have ever eaten. Sea bream tartare with black truffle and Granny Smith apple was a delight. The mains were scallop with carrots and a vanilla bourbon sauce and a monkfish “Wellington” that was cooked perfectly and absolutely stunning. The cheese plate was good, but it was a cheese plate. The eye of the storm to calm you down and prepare you for the amazing desserts. For dessert we were served a chocolate and truffle mouse covered in dark chocolate glaze that was new and interesting in the best possible way. The taste lingered and was so...it was just darn good! The other dessert didn’t hit quite those high notes but was still amazing. A donut drenched in Caribbean rum with a delightful green whipped cream topping. The staff was attentive and engaging from the start. They added a special little something to the experience and deserve praise. (Make sure to ask for the new Dyson model to be used on your table. I found the joke to be hilarious). The decorations were well prepared and you could tell someone took a great deal of pride in setting things up just so. Perfectly neat glitter patterned on one corner of the table, tidy, but still expressive. The napkins were held in place by clothes pins decorated with a Christmas sweater and a small Santa. We were sat next to a real tree that smelled of pine and...well, Christmas! These little details really made it feel like a Christmas at home with family. Truly an amazing Christmas Eve dinner in Paris for my wife and I. When away from family for a holiday like this it can be hard to capture that feeling, and the staff at La Luna did. Magnifique! Thanks to everyone at La Luna who made the night so special.

This has to be one of the best kept secrets in Paris. I’ve been coming here for 8 years and never had anything other than a wonderful meal and excellent service. The fish is some of the best, if not the best, you’ll find anywhere, and creatively prepared. Its also reasonably priced. The wines are marvellous.

Serious fish - this is one of the best fish restaurants in Paris (and it is only fish!) in an unexpected location. The grilled sole is to die for and is a perfect size. The catch of the day for two (usually seabass, John Dory or turbot) is also a safe bet. As dessert, do try the signature Baba au Rum (again for two, or even three). Good winelist. The food is not inexpensive (even for Paris) but we never feel shortchanged on quality.

A little more luxurious than my usual budget allows for, but perfect for a special occasion! The seafood selection is amazing and the cafe gourmand super delicious with not only 3 (as is standard in France), but 6 different mini-deserts, yummy!
