Decided to go for dinner to La Locanda last night as it’s my daughter favorite restaurant. I can say we were not disappointed. The restaurant itself is lovely with a welcoming atmosphere, the staff were friendly, knowledgeable and professional, advising on wi es and recommending dishes. We started with the Arancini balls which were absolutely delicious they came highly recommended by my daughter and were by far the nicest I’ve tasted.,we followed with pasta and also mussels everything was exceptional. The wine list was fabulous too. In short this is a little hidden gem of a restaurant and I simply can’t wait to go back. X
Lovely wee restaurant in a lovely area of Edinburgh. You can tell when the restaurant is owned by italians - the food is real italian and is really tasty service is nice, very welcoming. There are not many tables, so I would recommend making a reservation, the portions are well sized, Aperol spritz is tasty, not very easy to find a place with a good aperol in Scotland. Would recommend. Atmosphere - cosy.
My partner and I had an excellent dinner here last night. Tasty, unpretentious food with excellent, attentive service from the waiter. We were able to sit outdoors as the sun set - Cockburn Street looks beautiful at this time of day. The price (around 9 for a starter, 15-16 for a main, and 9 for a 175ml glass of wine) was a touch too high, and I think this friendly, simple food would work better at a price point that allows people to come regularly. Overall excellent and would highly recommend.
Lovely little place on the picturesque Cockburn Street. The food was delicious, and authentically Italian. Super friendly staff aswell! We went there for lunch and were thoroughly stuffed by the end. It would also be a very romantic place to visit in the evening. Five stars!
