Spectacular Fortress from 17th century. Free to enter but a bit touristy once inside. Great view over the Gironde estuary.

A great historical citadel, with restaurants and shops. It is possible to walk all around the fortress, and enjoy the view over the Gironde, Blaye, and vignards. A great place to spend the afternoon. There is also a camping within the walls of the citadel.

Excellent day out for the whole family. Great views of the surrounding vineyards. Very good restaurant at the hotel within the compound of the citadel.

Nice walk around the citadel with great views over the river. Little cafes and possibly places to park which were closed when we visited.
