This monument stands in tribute to Konrad Adenauer, the first chancellor of the then West Germany and lead the country through the recovery after the Second World War. This statue is about the worst monument imaginable to someone who did so much for this country. The depiction of Konrad Adenauer is depressing. The sculpture depicts an old an with his shoulders hunched up. The sculpture is virtually featureless save for the for and the long trench coat. Were this statue not so close to Neumarkt and all the shops and cafes, then it would be a total waster to see this.

Schlichtes Denkmal für den berühmten Sohn der Stadt. Würdigung Konrad Adenauers in seiner langjährigen Funktion als Kölner Oberbürgermeister (1917-1933 und kurz 1945), am Rande des zentralen Neumarkts, unmittelbar neben St. Aposteln gelegen. Könnte besser gepflegt werden.
Un bel ricordo del grande statista, vicino alla Basilica dei Santi Apostoli: il volto è serio e triste come se stesse meditando sul futuro di questa povera Europa
Wo ist die Statue hin? Nur noch der Sockel steht
Schönes Denkmal direkt am Neumarkt in der Kölner Innenstadt. Unmittelbar an einer alten Kirche und neben einem Markt, der immer Dienstags und freitags stattfindet. Gut zu erreichen mit dem öffentlichen Nahverkehr.
Sehr schöne Skulptur. Viel weiteres gibt es nicht zu sehen ! Trotzdem einmal anschauen !
Konrad Adenauer wurde 1867 in Köln geboren und starb 1967 in Rhöndorf. Er war von 1917 bis 1933 Oberbürgermeister von Köln und von 1949 bis 1963 der 1. Bundeskanzler der BRD.
