Hidden in a small alleyway away from the busy streets of Ambleside we discovered an hidden gem for culinary delight ;-) Bistro has a charming atmosphere and amazing staff providing a top notch service to guests. This was accompanied with amazing dishes that we enjoyed fully by us and our kids. Pre dinner snacks and bread were well presented and super yummy !! Venison and Fish mains were super yummy see photos. Accompanied by a good wine and local gin selection. Great evening out with delicate and well prepared food. Definitely will be visiting again in our next trip in Lake District Well done chef and team.

Having been to the old stamp house a couple of years ago (before it was awarded a Michelin star) we were intrigued by the very reasonable 3 course lunch menu for 24.50 - honestly this was one of the best culinary experiences! Cannot fault anything. Goats cheese was a real highlight!
What a special place! Real gourmet experience. The last time I visited Ambleside this was a day-time cafe and bakeshop, but the same team have transformed it to a very welcoming fine Cumbrian dining experience. Very inventive menu items and flavour combinations (the magical beetroot meringue amuse-bouche melted in my mouth!). Friendly and attentive service and a real passion for the sharing the different dishes with you. Wishing Kysty every success with this. Offers something truly unique in Ambleside.
Absolutely beautiful lunch here. Friendly and attentive staff and absolutely gorgeous food. Highly recommend! Turned a wet lakeland day into a really special family experience! Must visit!
An absolutely engaging and beautiful experience. The front of house and sommelier were incredibly friendly, helpful, and complimenting the food experience. Dishes cooked to perfection were an expression of a coherent menu. Highly recommend! (Picture of the venison with the most exquisite sauce I've ever had; even the nasturtium leaf went well with the sauce - though I can't remember which edible plant this was!)
