Sadly they can't cancel a booking for free... even in case of emergency!! The answer was that this cancel procedure is to complicated! But... this place is a private guesthouse so it shouldn't be difficult at all!
I would retourn to that place, I have felt like in home. It is small but very functional, the rooms are clean and the girls are very kind, you can ask them for information and they left all the necessary to spend a few days there. I highly recommend it.
A cozy little place to stay in Kyoto, close to many shrines and temples (a little advice is that make sure you check out the 京都大神宫，a nice little temple). Amazing location and friendly staffs who helped me with routes around Kyoto. Thanks Judy for your map and assistance, I enjoyed the stay.
It is such a great place to stay! It is a historical building and the owner, Judy, is extremely considerate. One of the other workers helped us plan what we would do and gave really good suggestions. The room I stayed in was very spacious and there was also a free snack bar!!
I spent here a few days in Aug 2019 and Im fully satisfied. The location is strategic - in the heart of the city, just a stone's throw from famoous Gion district. The room gives you the feeling of being in a real Japan: tatami mat on the floor, cramped space. IMO some hangers on the wall or a shelve would come in useful as after 2 days my room looked like a gypsy camp after 2 weeks but on the other had it looked quite romantic. Aha, tea, coffee & some sweets are on the house (it oes without saying).
