We went around 6pm and got the only 2 seats that weren't reserved. So lucky! I read the lowest reviews before going in and I was a bit worried but I found that the low reviews are all very misleading and based on misunderstanding. When the restaurant is full and reserved they will turn people down, doesn't matter if empty seats are visible. The fact that tax is not included is written on the first page of the English menu. Overall amazing experience. The cooks and staff were very friendly and their conversation with their usual customers are really heart warming, the entire place is full of laughter and joy. You can tell it's adored and frequented by old customers all the time. The food is great, one of the most delicious meals I've had this time. I recommend the shrimp dishes.

We loved this place, excellent food, very quickly served. Came here by coincidence and experienced great service, a great will to serve non-Japanese clients. The food was delicious. Can recommend it and would come back again.
A true must go place! While traveling Japan I made it a goal not to go to the same place twice but with this place, I failed. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming with fairly dim lighting. And the single table/bar on the first floor is very cool for socializing. Although no one spoke English any of the times I went, it was very easy to order and get seating. The staff were extremely nice and so were the local regulars. Don't miss this place on your way through, you'll regret it!
Very recommended place. It's one of these restaurant that doesn't look amazing from the outside, but it is. The chef is a master and provide various dishes for a ridiculous price. Everything looks good and is kind of artistic. For the price you will enjoy quality food and the show !
The restaurant is spacious and only 5 mins walking time from Kyoto train station. The attitude of stuffs is quite good. The most importance thing is foods are amazing!
