I love kushikatsu, and this place was lovely, though we had a little trouble as when they saw we were gaijins they took the sauce and cabbage away from our table and I had to ask to get them back, but the staff seemed very nice.

Told us it was full but let in the Japanese people behind us. Not friendly to non - Japanese people. Stunk of cigarettes. Plenty of better places to go in Kyoto, avoid this one.
Had kushikastu for the first time here; excellent fried food at decent prices. Despite us not speaking Japanese, the staff were very friendly and an english menu was provided anyway. 100% would go again.
It's a fun place to hang out, have some delicious food and beers. They provide an English menu and are foreigner friendly. The prices are on the low end of the spectrum and you can easily spend a couple of hours there. It's about five minutes from the station, easy to find, and should be close to the majority of hotels around. A definite plus is the long opening hours for people who are here for business. All in all it's a somewhat unique experience, which I do recommend completely.
