One of the orginal M6 services and still going strong, with decent franchises and facilities to help you along with your journey. Has been upgraded repeatedly over the years, whilst the outward appearance pretty much remains unchanged. Nothing great, but equally nothing bad about the experience whenever have called here, sometimes never even leave the car and just have 30 mins rest before continuing with the journey North. There is a connecting bridge to the Southbound services and everywhere is usually clean and tidy. Overall a decent services!

One way pedestrian guides throughout, to help maintain social distancing. Weirdly, there's no easy way to sanitiser ones hands after having to manually open the entry and exit doors (why aren't they auto doors?). Inside, the usual shops and restaurants are found. One very notable (and welcome) change to the facilities, is that the toilets are clean! They are proper hygienic too. They have a vacuum cover lid and the flush, sucks the contents away, minimizing and splashes or aerosol droplets flying into the air. This was possibly the first time in 10 years that I've been able to visit the loo at a service station, and not feel dirtier coming out, than when I went in! . For this reason I have added one extra star back from what would have been a four star review (for the door situation). One additional thing I should mention, because maybe not many people would do so... After coming off the motorway, the car section for normal visitors, is the first car park and first exit from the slip road, and it's clearly marked. It's very rare to see this. Usually you have to watch every little sign and maybe 2nd or third turning is for cars. If you take the wrong one, you can end up next to a bunch of coaches or lorries. (Maybe it's just me that does that?). Anyway, I appreciated the thought that went into making it easier for the trouble prone among us...
