Train service is atrocious here. 3 GO trains available, all before 7:30am (2 of which you cannot get to without driving/living close by because the GRT service doesn't run early enough). There's routes that use the GO buses instead, but they usually take longer and require many transfers in cities on the way to Union. Only VIA Rail is available to get back to Kitchener after 8am, and only 2 trains at that. Impossible for anyone to commute to and from this city without a car or spending 3-4hrs each way. Also the ticket booth is only open 3hrs a day, all of which are early morning, and the building is locked otherwise; so there is no access to washrooms or real shelter from the rain or heat. The person at the ticket booth has been rude every time I've been there over the past 7 years. Parking is terrible. There's barely enough space for 10 cars, and it's 8 a day. The station desperately needs updates. There's bent poles, dirty windows, chipped paint, gross bathrooms, and a generally run down, might fall apart look to the building. They encourage use of transit yet provide very little service with trains, don't have their own GRT system running early enough to catch half of the trains that do come in, customer service is almost non-existent, they don't use Presto for the GRT so there's no transfer discount, and the conditions of the building are terrible. The only good thing is that the place has a run down, old town kind of look that could be nice. If they tried to update things and keep that look while improving service, I think more people would come check out KW. UPDATE-10/26/2020: A GO train route to Union now runs around 8pm on evenings during the week. Appreciate this addition and hope for more improvements to come as well.

The station is somehow well organized and the trains dont usually late. But if you are planning parking there it is pain. You can book beforehand, but there is no guarantees that you gonna have a spot. I lost a train more than one time because of that. By the end, parking spaces are very limited, so you can easily find yourself in a situation that you cannot park your car.
An absolute horror show of a parking lot. Every weekday, mass vehicle exodus of exhausted commuters in a lot barely big enough to fit two cars side by side. Pedestrians weaving EVERYWHERE in and out between 50 rage-filled drivers all trying to exit at once, with vehicles idling waiting for riders, taking up space and parking right in front of parked cars so they can’t even exit! I’m surprised no one has died at this station yet. What a literal nightmare. And you get to pay 8.00 a day for this customer experience.
Prices can be outrageous for certain destinations, but aside from that it's very organized and staff are helpful! There has been a few late trains, but nothing I would worry about.
Staff is knowledgeable and polite. Parking is available for a fee, but the lot is not in great condition. Very grateful for the train and bus system.
