Great family swimming pool. Warm water, swin tests available. Adults or anyone who has passed the swim test can swim in the deeper end. Sanitized in between swims.
Very nice little community pool with a little picnic area and park. In a nice location accessible easily from multiple main roads. Staff are always wonderful and friendly with a strong sense of community. I love their sink or swim challenges where kids compete in a swimming challenge and if successful get their named pinned onto a board. This pool goes from shallow to deep from side to side rather then front to back allowing for lot's of swim area for both shallow swimmers or deep end swimmers. Has a cute little slide for younger children.
Me and my family of 5 have visited this pool 3 to 4 times this summer and I'm just appalled at the staff ! They are rude !!! All the times we have came to this pool there has been a cap of only allowing 50 people enter the pool wich leaves others having to wait for 20 mins to half hour just to swim ! I understand this is a free pool this summer but better management would be more appreciated! On more then one occasion the change rooms have been discusting !!! Feminine hygiene products left by toilets and the smell is horrible with no real place to change properly . The rule of no one re entering the pool area also never gets followed through on we have seen more then once people coming and sitting on deck not allowing others waiting to swim . I dont think us as public citizens should have to put up with such a poorly ran pool! Further more I will repeat how ignorant the staff have been to my family free or not free people shouldn't be treated like this !
I have been going to Idlewood Pool for almost 20 years now. It is a fantastic place to take a dip on a hot day during the summer. My daughter is now old enough to walk to Idlewood by herself and go swimming for the day. She always comes home with a smile on her face, telling stories about how the lifeguards teach her to swim, play sports and even card games when it is raining. The youth used to be an issue in this area, causing trouble and making life difficult for both the public and staff. This is no longer the case. The staff over the past 2-3 years have clearly put a huge effort into making sure everyone gets included and to feel welcome and I truly believe it has taught these youth respect as I have no longer encountered any issues with them. I look forward to returning during the summer. Mike.
Very clean, staff is very friendly and helpful. Doesn't have a deep end. The depth reaches 5'6" with a shallow end as well.
finally after 22 years i learned how to swim thanks for the free pool
Nice pool for the neighbourhood but unfortunately it is filled with rude unruly kids that are not controlled and are bullying others under the “watchful eyes “ of the lifeguards, No discipline as most of the staff are kids themselves and are obviously not trained . Too bad, as a pool like this , free or not, should be available to all, without hassle.
