Big thanks to the young chap who was running the Kingston store yesterday. I had taken delivery of a new bike from another bike shop to find the wheels were cheap and nasty. He found me a set of Mavics in stock, kept them for me and then had my rear cassette fitted to the new wheels. And topped it off by opening the doors as I left with my hands full of big boxes. Good old fashioned service, thank you.

Called in to have my bike serviced within the Fix Your Bike Voucher Scheme, with only a few days before voucher expiry. Staff member incorrectly advised that services had to be carried out before voucher expiry (rather than just booking made), then rudely asked, \you didn't think to have it serviced sooner?\. Tried another independent and was booked in within minutes.
My bike had a puncture plus another problem. I cannot thank Martin enough, he went out of his way and managed to repair it just before closing time, so professionally and with care. Their phone however doesn't answer.
Great knowledge given by Joseph, who I spoke to about investing in a MTB for various activities, recommend various things I would need, after not using a bicycle for many years. I have ordered online and looking forward to picking it up in-store in the coming days.
I used to visit this shop a lot and I was happy with it but recently ( I guess the last 6months) not sure what’s happened but it’s changed. The one before last time (back in October) I was waiting at the till to ask someone about exchanging an item, the person at the till looked like a manager who was doing something on the computer, not looking up at all to say he will help me once he is finished, I had to ask him in the end opened my mouth to say I will ask a quick question but before I said anything he very abruptly told me I have to wait till he finishes. I had to tell him that I only have a quick question and finally he answered in 2seconds. he made me very uncomfortable. I promised myself not to go there again but heyho I decided to give it another chance. Next couple of times I went there I had to wait to get someone’s attention to ask a question about sizes, colours..it was difficult. Last time which was last Sunday, I went there got an item went to till, no one was at the till, all the staff who was dealing with the other customers which was fine but none of them told me nor made a gesture to indicate that they will be with me soon, they all saw me waiting at the till for a long time, in the end I had to leave the item at the till and left the shop. very unpleasant experience. In the end I bought the item from another nearby cycling shop. I have no plans to go back to Evans again.
