This unique experience is run by a lovely husband and wife. There's nothing quite like it. Locally sourced mussels cooked in various sauces. A truly local delicacy that must be tried.

Had Thai mussels and Marseilles, the special of the day. Both were lovely as were the chips. Check opening hours/days on Facebook. Friendly service.

The Mussel Pod is a takeaway catering cart, offering a variety of fresh, steamed mussels. The offerings include a very traditional marinière (cream, garlic and onion), or butter/garlic, as well as more extraordinary options prepared with cider (the chef's favourite), and another with Thai flavours (cocoanut milk, chillies, ginger, sriracha sauce, etc) that is the favourite of the fisherman himself. My wife and I have taken a box home several times in a week to enjoy the different flavours with a glass of wine as an aperitif. The Mussel Pod visits food festivals throughout the country, but if you're lucky you'll find it parked at home selling the freshest mussels to locals. Opposite the Jolly Sailors pub parking lot, you'll see a roadside placard, if Mussel Pod is open. Check Facebook for opening times/dates. Might be CLOSED TUESDAYS. They supply many pubs and restaurants, and sell to the shellfish trade -- but here is a chance to enjoy the best of the best, at the source.

Gastro experience at bar food prices.....the Thai style mussels zing with a barrage of subtle flavours complementing plump sweet fresh mussels.....Normal for Norfolk reinvented.

Nice, chatty lady serving and I can highly recommend the garlic butter mussels, they were beautiful!!!!
