Keen golfers we wanted to try Hickory Golf and found Kingarrock which is about 15 minutes from St Andrews. On line booking was easy and we found it no problem. We were given a 15 minute overview of the golfing history at Kingarrock which began as a private course in the 1920s. We chose our period gold clubs and off we went for nine holes. The course is well kept and fairly short. Playing with replica 1920s balls added to the experience. Every golfer should give this a go. The surrounding countryside is smashing. Whole activity took about 2 hours 30 minutes. We ended we complimentary ginger beer and shortbread. Very friendly and helpful guide on hand.

Unfortunately we never had the chance to play at this course due to Covid however we did pay in full and received no response after multiple tries over the last few months. We re-booked our trip to May next year and never received a reply about rescheduling our booking. All other accommodations (hotels, excursions, etc.) were amazing and we were able to rebook no problem. I even offered to pay extra for golfing as I assumed prices would go up. Changing our reservation online didn't work as I had already paid. I contacted them via email and Facebook which they list as methods of contact (as it would cost money to call from where we are and I feel we have spent enough without getting anything in return). Very unfortunate as I don't like leaving negative reviews. We will enjoy golfing elsewhere and lose out on our hard earned money for this first trip overseas.

Great fun and challenging to golf with hickory clubs at Kingarrock Hickory Golf. Good to enter into the spirit of dressing in tweed, shirt and tie...Fore!

Well if you're into Golf this is a great day out .. 9 hole Hickory Club Golf.. This is not one of those pristine super smooth courses.. it's an origional reclaimed historic course.. It's a great challenge regardless of your handicap! It costs around 45 including hickory clubs & refreshments.. (2018)

Great experience to have the chance to go back in history and play with (old) hickory clubs! Did it twice during our holidays and will definitely be back :-)
