Great little beauty spot, plenty of open space, always full of dog walkers. Car park can get very busy but it is quite a large car park, there is a cafe and toilets on site. There is a riding school, animal petting zoo essentially and play park as well as the nature trails. Cheap or free day out, depending on what you choose to do while you visit.

Lots of great walks through this park, , animals and play parks. Unfortunately the castle and museum is closed for renovation, but can't wait to visit once these are completed.
Lovely walks, have been going there for more than 45 years. Like to do some birdwatching and have seen lots of wildlife. Just now during lockdown it's overrun with dogs (and their walkers). Ok but many of them not on leads and some of them very large, I happen to be nervous near dogs and as a pensioner now not as steady on my feet. Across from the main carpark there is a walk by the river where there is a huge amount of open space and hardly any people or dogs, why not let your dog (s) off their leads there, I am not talking about the field that is used for football etc. You could then have your walk in the park with excercised dog on lead.
Good walk \u200d️ trails. Lovely scenery and a good breath of fresh air . However, the kids were disappointed because the castle was under renovation. Saw it from the outside
Lots of lovely walks to do. Kids love seeing the animals. The kids park is reduced in size which is a shame. But plenty to keep them going.
