I purchased a new Honda outboard there in December 2017. At that time I enquired whether or not they provide off site service to engines not purchased in their store. After clarifying I speak about Mercury 60hp the Seller told me it is not a problem at all. When I told him the boat would be serviced in Skerries and I would provide a few weeks notice in advance we agreed it is possible. Six weeks ago I rang them again and spoke to a different (older) guy who told me that it would take more than one week as they were busy and I said it was ok with me. When I mentioned the boat is in Skerries he confirmed he previously did some servicing in Skerries Sailing Club and when I wanted to hear a ROUGH ESTIMATE (and when I say rough estimate I mean it) and the response was that he needs to assess the engine before telling me the rough estimate. When I said I just want him to give me an idea he mentioned 60.00 per hour labour but as an experienced mechanic was not able (or reluctant) to say if servicing a steering and water pump takes more than 6 hours. Then he started elaborating that it is 3 hours trip from their office to Skerries (evoking an impression that he would want 180 just to cover his \travel costs\). He concluded that he contacts me within a few days with his quotation or at least proposed days when he is available. This was more than 3 weeks ago... No, I do not expect them to come back to me with their apology but would not recommend their services as they are not reliable at all.
