Looks fantastic. Unfortunately it was closed and we couldn't go inside to see there. It's an ancient religious place. If you were successful to get inside, keep in mind that there are also some parts under the ground that you can see and enjoy. Earlier it had discount for students to visit this place but due to an unwritten law ir maybe racism, no discount for students studying in English! Only Ukrainian groups can have it! I don't know why :-)

This is one of the best examples of Orthodox church architecture. A must to visit. Come better not on big Orthodox holidays. A little past in the center of Kiev. To get to know Kiev just right - took all friends and relatives

The Perchersk Lavra is one of the best places I've ever seen! The monastery complex is huge and there is SO much to see. I would recommend seeing the main building, the caves and the folk and miniature art museum. It is all breathtaking and so beautiful. The caves are a wonderful experience, you don't have to be religious, just cover your hair and skin and remember to have some change to hand for your candle. This is a must see!! Oh and the bell tower offers spectacular views of the city!

Beautiful complex. It's very large, and there are many places you can enter. There are two sets of caves, which are quite similar to each other. It's free to enter the caves, but it's suggested you buy a candle (very inexpensive) to see around, as they're quite dark. Going into most of the churches and chapels are also free. Women should wear a longer skirt or pants, but if you're wearing something short, or your pants are deemed too tight, they have wraps you can borrow. Definitely worth a look around, and you can easily spend a few hours there looking at everything.

Absolutely must visit place. Entrance fee 50 grivnas per person. There you feel in piece with own thoughts. Food places available. Coffee available. Toilets are clean and free of charge. Photography allowed. Underground tunnels are breathtaking.
