Decent hotel, we stayed in their biggest suite which was like 600 a night. I did like the suite and the huge deck was nice too but the decor was a little questionable at times. I didn't really mind that though, my biggest issue was the service. The staff was often rude or straight up condescending, especially during check-in. While their breakfast options weren't bad I expected more for 600 a night.

Relaxed luxury in a beautiful natural setting. We enjoyed a short break here, loved the breakfast buffet and had a tasty (vegetarian) dinner. We enjoyed a 'garden room's that has a breathtaking view. The staff is friendly and takes it's time for questions. Very appreciated!
I was here for the restaurant. Tried the “Tagliarini mit Chilli-Vanillesauce, Tomate, Erdnuss und Thaispargel”. I asked for no added peanut and they said sure. Mind you: no explanation at all. First they gave me a plate of pasta with no sauce. When I asked, they took the plate and return it with tomato sauce. I was confused and asked again didn’t I suppose to have the Chilli-Vanillesauce? And they simply said, since I don’t want peanut, they put tomato sauce instead. Without asking. When ordering I only said I don’t want the added peanut (in English so perhaps there’s the confusion but still they could explain something, anything, and ask before randomly adding just any sauce). Reading the menu, the peanut was just added along with the asparagus and tomatoes. I thought I couldn’t be more surprised but that was another level weird. The black and white uniformed service staffs are very unfriendly, snobbish, dismissive, un-attentive, with a know-it-all attitude and just all around annoying. It applies to both male n female, of the 3 working that day (3 Oct 2020). Tarnishing the review of the restaurant as a whole. Service from all black uniformed staffs are a lot friendlier. I saw them asking stuff to the black and white ones so I’m guessing they’re trainees. Oh btw, catching the attention of any staff is difficult. Better luck with the all black uniformed ones though. Except when you want to pay, they’re quick at that. Humorous. The hotel itself looked nice from outside and the reviews here (I’ll give them benefit of the doubt because I haven’t tried staying there), great view and the hot chocolate was delicious (although served at half the cup size lol..). The 2* are for those because I’m being nice.
Plus: - nice spacious rooms with balcony (overlooking the patio). - breakfast buffet with a lot of options (hot and cold), in a cosy restaurant - helpful and friendly staff - you get a free card for the public transport (tram) during your stay (ask for it at reception) - excellent location to visit the Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe (due to Covid-19, the water-features are not working this year) Minus: - not enough space on their private parking (maybe due to construction work that was going on, which was taking up a few spaces?). It would be better if guests could make a reservation for a spot when they booked a room. And maybe a parking attendant to check the multiple cars that were badly parked and took up 2 spaces) - no airco in the room (we were there during the heatwave, mid august 2020) - nothing was done about the invasion of wasps, which made it impossible to enjoy a drink on the patio. It made it very difficult for the staff at the bar too, to fix the drinks and such. Why not place traps and/or drinking water outside the patio?
Excellent location, staff friendly and accommodating! Upgraded rooms are much nicer than basic, hard floors and better fixtures! Outdoor patio is great for an afternoon drink!
