Although more expensive than other wineries in the area, both winery and the cidery have really nice wines and ciders. Sitting outside and listening to someone singing for an hour and a half while having a tasting of wine and then cider was certainly a huge plus. Relaxed atmosphere, it was like being in a pub with live music, but outdoor with 4 different wines and 4 different ciders. Will go again when in the area.

It is the premier winery on the Kamloops wine trail. Delicious red wines, especially their Pinot Noir. Today their merlot was delicious. We had a cheese and charcuterie board. A nice soft cheese made in Salmon Arm, rain forest crisps, some tasty candied almonds, a Privato Pinot Noir jelly, and some olives. We enjoyed a flight of wine. A chardonnay, a sweet tasting house wine, and then their amazing pinot noir and merlot. A great way to spend an afternoon for my wife's birthday.
What a wonderful winery. Their wines are spectacular and their staff have a true passion for their wines. Privato is a small winery which gives a more intimate experience. They have a beautiful patio where you can have “flights” of wine /- order food instead of a tasting and there is also a large picnic area where you can enjoy your own food instead with the purchase of a bottle. If you have a chance however do a tasting (reservation recommended due to COVID19 or the wait when I went was about 45min-1hr) as it is inside a beautiful replication of a wine cellar and the staff that did the tasting made the experience truly unique. Also, if wine isn’t your thing, there is a new Cider Brewery on the same property also owned by the same family.
Pretty bad experience yesterday. Fairly new to Kamloops, we were hoping to try the wine and stock up. We booked by leaving a message on the phone. Arrived to find out that they didn't have our reservation. No apology. We were told that this was the second reservation that day they had lost. We were told we should have booked \online\ and that there were also problems with their phones. But there is no booking online option on their website otherwise we would have done it. They said they could squeeze us in and we were left to stand at their cash desk. They began to serve other people who arrived after us with quite large glasses of wine while we stood and watched. Everyone else was seated...we were left standing at the cash desk. Still at the cash desk, we were then poured two very small glasses of wine with a rushed explanation because they were more interested in serving the other people. Everyone else was comfortably seated .... we thanked them and said it was too bad about our reservation but that we were uncomfortable and we left.
The wine is all really nice! The Pinot and the Chardonnay we the highlights for me. Their grounds were lovely! We wandered around and took photos for about an hour, it was a lovely autumn sunday afternoon adventure!
