This location is the corporate location. They are the ones who order their compromised gift cards. Please read! It is very important if you were given a gift card for the holidays or anytime for that matter and when you tried to use it, there was no balance. I don’t understand why Kabuki sells gift cards with no security protocols taken to hide the account and PIN numbers on their cards. Have they never heard of the scam that happened years ago with gift cards sold at grocery stores? It changed the entire gift card industry except for Kabuki it seems. From production of the cards up until the moment it is purchased and activated anyone can note down the card number and pin number. Then they just wait. They check in online to see if it’s been activated. They have equipment to degauss and upload the new card number, pin and balance on a blank card and proceed to use it or sell it for a discount on Craigslist or eBay. My brother gave me a card for Christmas. I placed it in a box where I keep all gift cards. I pulled it out January 31st to take my 90 year old father out for his birthday. When scanned they told me there was no balance. I have kept this card secure the entire time it was in my possession. It was compromised while in their possession. The manager told me “I” used the card in Rancho. I’ve never been to Rancho in my entire life! Her condescending attitude and insinuation that I had used it was insulting. It was their fault and she would not stand behind the card that was sold to my brother, 5 weeks earlier at the very location that it was being used at. They have a huge problem! And I am positive that I am NOT the only victim of their lax security protocols with their gift cards. They DO NOT comply with industry standards. I intend to contact the attorney general to force them to take responsibility for causing stress to all of the recipients of these compromised gift cards.
